Greyden Press is a proud sponsor of the Erma Bombeck Writers’ Workshop held at the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio from April 16 through April 18, 2010. 2010 was the sixth bi-annual workshop originating in 2000. With more than 380 attendees from across the United States and Canada, the Erma Bombeck Writers’ Workshop celebrates the writing skill and humor of Erma Bombeck, a University of Dayton graduate and long time Dayton resident. The workshop focuses on encouragement, instruction and guidance to humor and human interest writers of all levels. The three-day, three-night workshop includes keynote speakers and breakout sessions on the topics of humor writing, human interest writing, the publishing process, and marketing for authors, among other areas. University of Dayton Erma Bombeck Writers’ Workshop is the only organization to target humor and human interest writers as its primary educational focus.
Greyden Press was honored to produce and print both the book Snakes in the Chicken – Tales of Laughter and Life from the Erma Bombeck Writing Competition and the program for the Workshop. Snakes in the Chicken is a compendium of the winning Essays from the Erma Bombeck Writing Competition sponsored by the Washington – Centerville Public Library and the University of Dayton in conjunction with the Erma BombeckWriters’ Workshop.
